Joy Diet - Creativity

It seems that I can not come up with any new ideas, no matter how far out or whatever they are for Menu Item #4.

Every day, conceptualize and write down at least one new, concrete idea that will help you obtain something your heart desires.

I keep coming to the same ones -

-Quit job (Change the path I am on)
- Work on art
- Work on both art and paying job
- Get a new job
-get better organized - so I can do both art and paying job

I did add

- Open a Bed & breakfast ( This is a dream/want that I desire and have for a while - also, along with my art)

I will work hard at coming up with new menu items #4

We have to remember that no matter how crazy it might be - IT MIGHT WORK
Remember that WE create OUR life.

Best part of the chapter to me was - the exercise - Fill in the Blanks.

I intend to be both Happy and Sad.
I intend to have both Success and Failure.
I intend to do both Art and my paying work.

Wow, those are pretty clear desires. I think the next chapter may be just the right timing for you- Risk.

Now that you have your desires, what is the next step? What can you do to make them happen? I think this chapter is about creatively coming up with the steps and action plan. For example, you want to quit your job. What might you do? Work on your resume? Brainstorm jobs you would like to have? Have a great week and thanks for sharing your desires.

That is great. You can when you are ready to move forward. I love that you know what you want.

Your post really resonated with me. On some level, I know my desire is to do something creative for work, but what. It's great that you know that you want a bed and breakfast. I am currently a SAHM and am somehow trying to find a way to jump start things while I am not working. I just need to clarify what I truly desire. Getting better organized is another thing that I really need to do. Without my supplies being organized how can I create. Your intentions are so true. I believe you can't have certain things without having the opposite

Maybe the ideas you need to generate are the small ones, not the big ones. Maybe the big ones are too scary. You might get more traction if you found the baby steps that could turn into an action plan. KathrynAntyr has some great ideas.

I like what you said Lucy about choosing the part that worked for you -- and you were able to list your desires. Keep going...I think you are on to something good!

My two cents worth...focus on the "why" of your desires which activates the creative energies and inspired action!

This is great - you sound very clear about your desires and ready to move forward!!

Nice list. Tell us more about this bed & breakfast idea - you could sell paintings to customers, decorate their rooms with your art. Sounds like a great plan.

I like to think that intention gives wings to our dreams, and yours are clear, beautiful, and powerful! I look forward to hearing about your adventures with risk!

I think it is a good thing that you keep coming up with the same desires - these are the truest ones.....it will be interesting to see how the next chapters help you to step closer closer to them. You are on your way!

You can do it. Whatevever your heart desires will be presented to you twofold. Just believe in yourself.

I don't know your life story or anything about your current job, but reading your blog made my mind start ticking:

Can you transfer to a new department at your current job? I worked in Employee Communications at UPS and we had a STAFF of creatives (art/design/graphics, etc.) who made all the artsy stuff. Maybe you could find somethng like that?

Or what about working part time?

Can you start talking to B&B owners? read the magazines and websites? visit them on location?

Can you sell your art on line or at Weekend craftshows?

I don't know... maybe none of these will help ... or maybe one will give you an idea to run with. Sometimes two brains (or in this case many more) are better than one.

Keep taking those turtle steps!

Good luck.

Hi Lucy,

So it seems that you are talking about MY life here! Funny. Yeah, I have a different problem though - mine is that I have TOO MANY ideas that I am trying to manifest. Too scattered...thanks for commenting!

I only found a few "creative" ideas for my desires, but I wouldn't have found them if I hadn't written the more mundane ideas down, too.

Glad you are finding some gems as you work through the book.

I see you have found your hearts desire, now to find the path to lead you to them. All the best with finding your way. :)

sounds like you're right on track, even though you may not think you are - wishing you much success and happiness and everything you desire on your journey!

Thanks also for popping into my "Desire" post!

I think that sometimes we have to work on the "old" ideas before we can move on to any "new" ideas.
I have been trying to have simple lists. Short. So that I can finish. When I have too many things on my lists it creates stress and anxiety.
You have a great list of ideas. They all fit in with how you did the exercise.
Bravo.

Hi Lucy,
I like your clarity and the dichotomy intentions your wrote. I think dreaming up ways to do these things and taking action will get you there. Thanks for sharing & keep up the good work.

Those are quite amazing desires. I find that just the act of saying them out loud or writing them down gives them power and takes them to a new level of recognition. Thank you for sharing your week with creativity.
