I had hoped to come up with some great health and wellness wish. NOT.

So, my wish is to get in tune with myself and put myself first more. Not skipping or rushing - to my volunteer meeting or whatever - and therefore not eating the way I should - would be putting myself first. - There I have a health and wellness wish. Spend more time taking care of myself.

There has been a cold hanging around me since Thursday. I took Sunday off work - and slept, but it did not really bother me - that there would be no money coming in - because of that (leaving work early).

I also left work early on Thursday - the weather was getting bad - I was bored at work and so I took up their offer - for someone to leave early. Once again the money situation did not really seem to bother me.

Why does the money thing bind me to some - thing - (that I can not mention right here)?

What doesn't kill you - makes you stronger - stand a little taller.

So, is this a gratitude post - not outright. But deep down it is. If you can read between the lines.

Wow, life throws lots at you. This should really say - Life is throwing lots at me.

I have problems with "false thought(s)" - to me they keep rearing their ugly heads.

Here is a great thought.

Truth is..... I made a phone call earlier and the service person made me feel like I was bothering him. In turn that put me in a negative mood - for a few minutes.

Truth is..... I read Julianna's post and that pulled me out of the mood and put me in a much better mood.

Truth is..... I, too have a gift card to spend - so I am going to try to spend it on the way to work.

Truth is.... It is raining here and therefore does not help once you start to go into that negative mood.

Truth is..... They say it should snow and snow lots tomorrow.

Truth is..... My leg is much, much better. Still hard to sleep and therefore I have a pillow concoction that I do - to help me sleep. Basically this V shaped pillow under the knees and another for the back and head area. It helps.

Truth is.... This is not bad for a Truth is post.... that bec. of this mornings call (by me) to a company that I deal with - well I was not going to write this post. I am very glad that I did.

Truth is..... These kitties sound like elephants running down the hall.

Truth is..... One of the kitties thinks he is a dog and wants to herd you as you walk down the hall. At least he does not nip.

Truth is..... First day back at work was tiring - as I knew it would be - but that is life.

Truth is.... The lists for the newsletter is more important than taking down the decorations and setting up the front display. The lists had a deadline to be met. I met it - but just. Oh and it seems - the customers are not that important.

Truth is .... Morning pages are good for me and last nights dream was a doozie. Water, board walk or something like that, more water, people from my youth and a tricycle.

Truth is..... There are quite a few changes where I work. Meaning new vendors - out with the old..... or something like that.

Truth is ..... It is Jamboree night - tonight at Lions. Should make for a good night as the music is always great.

I thought of ____ and _____. I thought of all the reasons why I could not make peace with each of them. AND then I thought of me.

So, I wish to make peace with me - inside and outside. There are more things to be revealed about this and why I am not a peace. I have known this for a while. BUT and this is a huge but - I am making progress. Without being at peace with myself - how can I be at peace with _____ and _____? Huge as I told you, huge.

- I know that this is one that I need. I am really trying to think about my body - because of my leg.

Gratitude - Thankful Friday

I would like to just put a few things down about what I am thankful for.

I am thankful that my leg is on the mend. It is still quite painful - but I am not in as much pain as two days ago OR even two days before that.

I am grateful for the resources available to me - for my job, my finances and more.

I am grateful for my son, daughter in law, granddaughter and daughter. They all pulled together and Xmas was a very nice visit.

Truth is.... I kinda jumped the gun and make and posted my 2011 Thoughts slideshow. I wanted to do something creative.

Truth is.... It was my Hamstring muscle that I pulled and it still hurts - depending on which way I place it.

Truth is.... The snow - outside - has made it slippy - hope no one falls.

Truth is.... I had to overcome being scared - when I needed to walk over the same area - on Tuesday - when I left to have my massage - Massage helped.

Truth is.... I have had to pull myself up.... bec. of being in a funk.

Truth is.... I am glad it is not my hair that is being died black and something else.

I wish that I am fearless. I wish to continue stepping out, creating, accomplishing, and knowing that this life is how I want it. I wish to have the resources, energy and drive to do this. I wish to accomplish it, create it. Biggest part is I wish for the resources (be that what they should be - and maybe now how I have been thinking - they should be), may the resources be there.

Gratitude.

Today I am thankful for my trials. I am working on being positive - You do have a better day when you are positive. Then my accident - pulled muscle happened. So, I started wondering about it.

Well, I have seen that there is a bonus in my accident.

So, I am grateful. I see who is missing me at work. I see what I kids really feel for me and I am seeing that I needed this rest. Rest from what is happening in my life - such as how busy I have been and the job that I am learning to deal with.

So, in an accident that happened - I have been able to see the good.

Truth is

Truth is.... I am off work - through no fault of my own.

Truth is.... There is not much on TV.

Truth is.... It is bec. of the ice that I slipped on, pulling a muscle, now taking Aleve, tylenol and icing it, then later heating it.

Truth is.... I had my first Ambulance ride... not that nice, but the paramedics were extremely great. Hospital staff was fantastic also.

Truth is.... There was someone here in my appartment parking lot - Who - inspite of me - standing on one foot, and yelling and waying - she just drove out of the parking lot and went on her way.

Truth is.... My son said to talk to the landlord and get him to pay. Pay for what? The ambulance ride - I think it is covered at work. Maybe the amount of pay I will loose - bec. of not working..... I will talk to the superintendant - to see what they say.

Truth is.... I will not be driving anywhere for Christmas - in too much pain to drive... and it turns out that my granddaughter is sick with pnemonia. So... staying home.

Truth is .... I am off to shuffle to the kitchen to get some lunch....

Last night was our Lions Xmas. I helped organize it and I put together a blue and white theme, with Danish overtones. We had beautiful centerpieces from Little Tree - here in Fergus. They had birch bark - pots with Cedar greens, pine cones, twigs and artificial snow and plum/gold balls. I cut a blue plastic table cloth - length wise and put that down the center of the table and then had cut out paper snowflakes on it. I found blue and white snowflake napkins. I had got 5 kinds of Danish cheese and had radishes ( a typical accompaniment to cheese ) and rye bread - the thin dark kind. Also served a non alcoholic grogg - sort of hot apple cider with spices and fruit. Full turkey dinner with all the trimmings and rice pudding with cherry sauce and an apple cake. We have a band and they offered a juke box style requests for music. There were 5 prizes from those - who requested a song- they got to take home a centerpiece.

Check in. I fully intend to continue my morning pages. I will also take myself on artist dates. I will re-read the Artists Way - book. There was lots I got from it. Very much worth the price of the book and I intend to keep it in my mind.

Truth is..... We have had so much rain - this last month - that I think we will shrivel up like prunes. It is still raining.

Truth is.... The fog last night was thick - but not quite like pea soup... so life was good.

Truth is.... Had a dentist appointment this week. It was fine.

Truth is.... One of the managers who is closing tonight.... will do a great job.

When I read what Jamie asked us, "What is your deepest wish?", I thought..... I have written about this before. Many times I have said - I would like my art to replace my paying job.

But then I thought - no... maybe my deepest wish - needs to be deeper.

My deepest wish - is that I have the courage, strength, fortitude to do what is needed. To follow what my heart, intuition is telling me. I also need for it to become clear for me - not just that this is what I think I should do. I also need to then do it. Make a decision and do it.

Today I am most thankful for a renewing within me, to keep going.

I am thankful for my job, the trials that come my way because of it and life in general.

I am very thankful for a vendor where I work. They always express their thanks for us making their sales. We do work hard for every vendor and it is very nice to be appreciated.

I would also like to express the gratitude that I have for my safety every day that I drive. There are a lot of people out there in a hurry.

Chapter 11 Check in

I went on a great date.... I was at 2 art galleries for a while on Saturday. It was very enjoyable.

I have completed some of the tasks.

I still struggle to do the pages every day.

Truth is.... Even though I had not participate for a couple of weeks, I was going to this week and I really missed reading Julianna's - Truth is blog.

Truth is.... My old cats claws were quite thick and I had to cut them and she did not like it. So, I got the front cut and will tackle the back tomorrow.... I will also cut the front in a few day again - as I was only able to get a little cut - she was sooooo unhappy about it.

Truth is..... I have a headache. I know why I do not drink that much - and this was only 2 glasses last night. I just do not like how I feel the next day.

Truth is.... I am happy with what I am accomplishing. I know it is slow, but it has not stopped.

I am working on the Artist Way... just re-gained my modem so will post very quickly.

Yes,,, I went on an Artist date... very quick one as I only had a short time.

My tasks have helped me realize and know that I put things in my way and block my progress.... so I am working on that.

I am working hard on an affirmation a day... and my affirmation that I picked was... Today may I make my dreams come true. Quite something .... considering that I was working on AW and affirmations.

No clear answer to me.

I would like to have tea with a girl friend or two, but we always seem to busy and it always seems like I do the asking - but then maybe they think it is them - who do the asking!!

I also thought of people who have past - as that seems to be where my mind is sometimes, right now I am really thinking and planning - Hans Christian Anderson - The Little Match Girl - crafts/paper cuttings - something like that and the facts behind his life - for the Lions Christmas Party that I am arranging.

Then I think of present life and it is my daughter who I would like to have tea with and a chat.

Artists Way Chapter 9, check in and more

I decided to do a tour of Old Belwood. This is the part of Belwood that is underwater about 7 months of the year. Because of spring flooding it was decided to flood and make Lake out of an area in Belwood. This area is now called Lake Belwood. Even the bridge over the area - was raised 5 meters and that was definately needed as it rises to just within about a half meter of the underside of the bridge.

This is a bit of information about Belwood. I took pictures an old sidewalk, and a few other things. I have explained as I went.

I got my information from the Women's Institute - they have kept the history of many areas Belwood being one of them.

This is also my Artists Way check in. I consider this afternoon a well spent time as it also fed my soul.

So, I got morning pages done most days.
I am highlighting my later pages - ones that I just got down on paper - what I could and as fast as I could.
Not finished the tasks - but will later today. I will post another time - if something really important occurs to me.

As you can read Belwood was quite a village. It still is today - you should have seen Halloween - a Haunted House - put on by the Lions - and a 4 float parade - all lite up and wonderful.

This is St. Andrew street - right along the "old" river - the Grand River.

To me these 3 pictures must have been from a house/building along - St. Andrew St.... it looks like a foundation of some sort.

This is more of St. Andrew st. just before the stream that feeds the Grand River. I crossed the stream to get the next pictures.

These two pictures show the steps and rock garden of the Hotel - at least that is what I figure. This Hotel's name was the Commercial Hotel also known as the Douglas Hotel. It was on the south corner of St. Andrews street and Broadway.

This is where I started my walk. Just in front of the plaque about Belwood. These 2 sidewalk pieces represent the old and new Belwood. In that the piece on the left side was made in 2008 approx. and the piece on the right is from at least 1900's - I do not think it is as old the the piece from St. Andrew st... although it may be ..... who knows - I do not.

I found this really amazing. This mint was growing in quite a few places - which is under water or frozen for a greater part of the year. It probably pokes its head out around July of the year and freezes in November - each and every year.

Here I thought I was doing a good job of nourishing myself. I am cleaning my appartment, cleaning my soul, doing yoga, meditation, affirmations, art, journalling. What more can I do?

Well, I would like to nourish myself WITH no more problems, trials whatever you call them. I see a new problem at work has reared it ugly head. I would like to nourish myself - with the peaceful and proper resolution of it. Proper resolution meaning that the error comes out the way it should have - being paid for properly. I would like to have peace and calmness for myself.

I wonder what the Universe has planned?

I am thankful for my friend Jill. She is offering a yoga, meditation, journaling, walk in the forest - morning. And it is on my day off.

It was a very nice day - I journal, have a Mandala to do, we did yoga, a snack, and an outdoor closing circle.

I am thankful for all my co-workers. We pull together and things are going very nicely at work.

I am very grateful for my daughter.

I am grateful for the weather. Yes, it has been cold and rainy - and I had to scrape off the car - last night after finishing work. But it is still nice weather.

I am grateful for the little things in life. My lions volunteer work, my KIPP volunteer work, my soul cards, the colouring sheet that puts me in touch with my inner soul, my journalling, The Artists Way book.

Truth is... I am glad for Julianna with being off Caffeine and sugar and having lost weight.

Truth is... This having my daughter back home with 2 extra cats is good. It is challenging trying to get the 2 new ones - to say hello - as one of them keeps growling at me - but rubbing around my legs and my feet and rolling on his back - growling all the while.... I keep bringing in - food - for them... this last time - cut up turkey with the water juice - I had boiled the bones and then picked off whatever turkey was left.... they loved it. But one sits and watches me and the other does the growling bit.

Truth is... these late Thursday nights last week and tonight are not the best. I was in the dark a bit - the co-worker had her husband drive the car near mine and she and I walked to mine - but it was still not the best.

Truth is.... having a day off to take a soul collage course was a lot of fun. I accomplished 4 cards - but also accomplished much more in my soul.

Truth is... trying to get cats into something - to take them home with you - safely - is not to safe for ME personally. I ended up scratched..... but the scratches are healing.

Truth is... the flowers around her are looking quite bad - what with the bits of frosts, high winds and rains. They need cleaning up - taking down - whatever it is called.

Truth is... we will probably have to decorate for Xmas, do the front display and get the lists done - along with the regular stuff - next wednesday.

Truth is... It is time to do my meditation - before I go to work - so... time to get off the computer.

My wheat less - not quite gluten free journey - I broke it - because of a few things this past Friday night and Saturday. I truly see that it is probably Wheat that I have a problem with. So.... I am back on wheat free - food that is - and I am going to try really hard to stay that way.

Artists Way - check in Chapter 8

I got an artist date done with myself, I started a Travelling Journal. Mary Ann started this and I decided to do it myself. I was at my granddaughters and I have a double page - by myself and a double page done with her.

I am meditating - more.

I did not quite finish the chapter - so I do not know what the assignments are.

Today - I am off to make SoulCollage cards. I am excited I have waited a year for this course.

I will post a picture later of my travelling art journal and the cards.

My daughter moved back home last night - so things are up in the air - with that. But it will all be good.

I am thankful for all the blog friends I have made. I am now journalling, working on a book, doing a travelling art journal, doing affirmations, meditating, doing Wednesday wish, doing vision boards and other stuff all bec. of my blog friends.

I am grateful for today, we (daughter and I) are going to see my son and his family. My daughter has not seen them since May and therefore it will be a great time.

I am also thankful for the trials I have. It seems that they are making me stronger. I am seeing little improvements - but that is also bec. I am working on things, saying my affirmations more, etc.

Truth is.... It is raining and raining.... has rained for about 6 days now... and been cold. Oh well, it could have been snow, I suppose.

Truth is.... bought some pretzels... no gluten ones and have decided after one taste that they are far too hard and will not eat them as they may break my teeth. They have a mullet or is it millet in them and that is probably what is too hard.

Truth is... I found some pita or is it tortilla that I used for a sandwich... put stuff on it and roll it.... It was good.

Truth is.... I am so used to things not being completely done that when someone said - where's the key, I can't find it (on the key ring) that I did not check and therefore did not see that they had not looked to hard and now it is turned around and it (the fact that she did not find the key) is all MY fault.

Truth is.... I have had to grow really wide shoulders so it can all rest on me.

I am progressing slowly along the path I want. I am doing what I want. So, I am not sure what I wish to make time for.

So, I will ask that I make time for what the Universe has planned and that it is revealed to me. When I work on things - I see little improvements, so I would like to continue and I would like to see bigger improvements along this path.

I am thankful for the fact that I am dry and warm. It has been a few days now of rain and cooler weather.

I am grateful that my back is feeling a bit better. I fell the other day, flat on my back and it did not feel good. It also helps that I had my massage.

I am grateful for my job, even though it is a chore. There are many things for me to learn from it.

I am thankful there is a craft sale tomorrow. I was going to take lots of things - but it has not worked out that way. I did not get everything I hoped to make done.

I am very grateful that the money to cover my tooth has come in. I was a touch worried about it.

These things that are hard for us - must be put there for a purpose, so I am grateful for what I am learning, but sure hope I learn it soon.

Truth is.... it is not that easy to remember to keep a list during the week - so that Truth is posts would be easier.

Truth is.... things are getting much more strange - at work. It feels like it will explode one day.

Truth is... I do not like that fact that they have decided to stay open late on Thursdays. I did not sign on for that and the winter is coming.

Truth is... Black berry and the RIM black out problem. Wow.... people get a life. You do not need to be glued to technology.

Truth is.... I am tired of my cable company telling me that - well you were getting that channel for free all this time and we have to convert to digital and so you are loosing analog channels..... guess what cable company.... I am seriously thinking of scrapping my cable hook up completely. I would rather blog and stuff.

Truth is.... I fell the other night and it hurts at times - actually twinges of pain. Need my massage.

Truth is... this not eating wheat is hard. And it broke my tooth. Dentist said that it would have broken on other stuff too. I tried a delicious nut-thins cracker.... and it broke my tooth. $221.00 later....

Truth is.... I think I am finished here.

No, I have not. I really know that there is nothing interesting there for me... just things like - I am writing this... I do not know what to write... and then of course some of it is good. But NO... I have not read them.

3) Rant, rave or joyfully tell your story so far.

My story so far. I am enjoying the book. Not always getting morning pages done, getting some of the tasks done and only a few dates - so far. I take heart that everyone is in varying places - just like I am.

Truth is Post... Even Later

Truth is.... I was not going to post this week. But thought better of it.

Truth is.... I plugged a new cordless drill into the charger. They say the charger light should come on - showing me that it is charging. There does not seem to be a red light - on or off - none available. So... is it charging?... is the on some models and not this one?... Only time will tell.

Truth is.... the A/C was still on at work. The temperature outside the night before was almost freezing. No wonder people complained that it was cold.

Truth is.... If I had of taken the detour they wanted me to - I would have been late for work. Why they did not have the detour at the lights about half a minute north of where they had... then I would not have had to do a U turn.... I was not going to take the detour they wanted me to.

Truth is... going on the Studio Tour - a day I truly enjoyed - well it was also totally tiring. Very glad I was home and had a cup of tea.

Truth is.... Late night openings for my work are continuing. It was supposed to finish and the people that be - the higher ups - decided differently.

Gratitude Friday

I read Nolween's post and realized that I should also be thankful for the trials I receive. I did not get a chance to post on friday so I was going to skip this post.

I am thankful for trials, even though I do not want them. People say they make you stronger, so I am counting on that.

I am very grateful for my daughter coming home later today. She has been on an adventure out in BC picking fruit for the summer.

I am grateful that I got to spend last Saturday feeding my muse. I spent most of the day seeing art in artist's studios.

My many friends and the blogs they write and the fact that I can spend time viewing them.

My ability to help at our Lions Jamboree.

I am also grateful for the way my job is going. I am really trying hard with the positive affirmations. I am seeing chances. One big one that I can not voice here. But suffice it to say, I can see that my affirmations help.

Artist's Way Date

On Saturday Oct. 1 - I went on my artist date and did part of the Fergus Elora Studio Tour.

I stopped off at Supria Karmaker's - she does Encaustic.

Next I went to Kitras glass and for a donation to the food bank - got a clear ornament.

I experienced Synchronicity at F. Graeme Chalmers. It involved seeing a blog the other day about Andrew Wyeth - Christina's World. and F. Graeme Chalmers - painting that he is working on. He is doing a picture - just like that - except that Christina is crawling towards - the Poor House - in Aboyne - between Fergus and Elora.

I stopped at Jane's Frames - she does Encaustic. I experienced my second bit of synchronicity here. Jane's latest pieces have Hot air balloons pictures - transferred onto them. The other day I watched an archeology program and they were excavating for the concrete and steel part that would have held and air balloon down - during WW2.

I dropped into Maggie Vanderweit - Textile artist.

I wanted to show you all the Warty Peanut Squash - that was at the Elora Farmer's Market.

Then a very nice lunch. I had a chicken and turkey and cranberry burger with fries.

I then dropped into Carla's Jewellery.

Lastly I went to Melanie - Weaving artist.

I thoroughly enjoyed my date and can't wait to do something like this again. It is well worth the time spent on these dates.

I am thankful for the fall weather. I love the colours of the trees.

I am grateful for the thanks that I get from work. One of the vendors has been so generous with us. His sales have been great - so the last thanks was a dinner our - buffet style. Really good.

I am grateful for the gas card I received.

I am thankful that I live in the county of Canada and I am well read. This was brought home to me- by a short story I will tell you. I was at the park with my granddaughter. There were 4 girls in all. One of them was from ? Korea ? - not sure. Anyways - she was having fun - but she was very concerned - bec. I was picking leaves and she was not sure if they were poison or not. This and a few other comments stemmed from what her parents have taught her.

I am also very grateful for that fact that I woke up and I am healthy. Yes, there are problems - but today is another day.

Truth is..... Even though it is very nice to spend time with my granddaughter - it is also very nice to be back home in my own bed, etc....

Truth is .... Driving 120K on the 407 across Toronto is great... and fine there, the speed is 100K. Driving close to the same 100, 105, etc. on 80K roads is very easy to do too... but if caught it would be frowned on. The car is built to go fast - does not mean that the driver should make it go that fast.

Truth is..... In my drive to work and more ... and my complaints about drivers running red lights in town... well even a driver with a horse trailer AND HORSES in - runs red lights. Doesn't he know that horses can get hurt? Never mind humans.

Truth is.... Thursday is a bad day to drive past the Market on the way to work. People cross all over the place... no matter who has the right of way and that they might be just steps from the lights.... and ... and ...

Truth is.... 10 pm at night is not a good time to shop for the face cream you ordered. There is not enough staff - who know where to search for it in the back room, even the supervisor did not know.

Truth is.... New staff at the fast food place - can not get the order right OR maybe it was old staff. Are we in such a fast turn over of staff - that we do not have the time or whatever to train new staff right... therefore they become OLD staff - also. Serves me right.... I want to try cutting wheat products out of my diet - to see if it will improve.

Truth is.... I did cut wheat out for a day... and things seem a bit better. Wonder what will happen after a week of it... I will try no wheat for a week, at least.
